DOUBLE COIL RINGS
Double coil rings are precision-engineered, circular retaining elements formed from flat wire into a two-coil spiral. Unlike traditional snap rings or circlips, double coil rings do not have lugs or ends that protrude from the groove. Instead, they provide 360° groove contact with continuous radial pressure, ensuring uniform load distribution and excellent axial retention.
The dual-turn configuration increases ring stiffness and load capacity while allowing for easy installation and removal using standard tools. These rings are ideal for applications requiring compact form, minimal axial play, and high rotational balance.
They are especially suitable for internal or external grooves in shafts, housings, or bores where dynamic loads, vibrations, or rotational speeds are high, and reliability is critical.
Two-Coil Design: Provides higher axial load capacity and increased ring stiffness compared to single-coil spiral rings. 360° Contact: Full groove engagement results in better stress distribution, improved retention, and reduced risk of failure due to point loading. No Lug Holes: Smooth profile allows for cleaner aesthetics and compatibility with automated assembly, unlike traditional circlips or snap rings. Compact & Lightweight: Ideal for space-constrained applications needing high performance without excess mass. Easy to Install & Remove: Can be installed manually or with automated systems, and removed without damaging the groove or component.
